Best law firm merch you've ever seen?

(I need to procrastinate)

I've seen a couple of inactive threads like this, but, well, a new one should always be good fun.

What's the best law firm merch you've ever seen or been given at an Open Day/Career Fair/Interview?

Did you get the charger at an interview? If so, can't believe I'm a year late :/

For me it's a S&S mug and macfarlanes' mamazing pen. S&M also comes close for their super high quality document folder!

I've never got a hoody!

Most useful I've got has had to be a AS/Trowers waterbottle.

My best merch was from a chambers but it was a stress shaped as a barrister with a wig!
Really? Our try-hard law soc president used to be turn up with a different hoodie each lecture.

Then again, he couldn't even get a VS. More of a lady doth protest too much scenario, but still quite common to see them about campus.
I think maybe the different might be, to my naive mind, is that LSE being in London, you come across genuine City types who might s****** at you flashing your stuff about. On campuses, we are a little more isolated (and colder!), so there is less judgement and genuine need to escape hypothermia.

The one everyone wore are the Law School law-firm sponsored ones, which are OK. Your year of entry on the front, law school name, and some doss logos on the back. Haha, even worse, people wear them to socials (again, we are less cultured at campus unis). Makes socialising a lot easier, as the law lot are more likely to pop up and introduce themselves, knowing you're law and that you're in their year or that you're year above and can teach them some land law stuff.

To be fair, the only free stuff I have taken are some Cadbury Roses -- from a young (lady) associate who wouldn't take no for an answer. I wish I could contribute more meaningfully to this thread hahaha.

They are probably contractually obliged to wear them at socials.

The ambassadors and such? Probably, and if not, it makes their job easier to wear it anyway. But I meant that our law school gave out about 450 to every law student, every year, for free. We all used to wear them on campus and to socials, and what I didn't want to admit, is I did too.

Then I was in Kings Cross and saw an Oxford Law School one, felt bad, and vowed never to wear mine again.

London universities have a completely different attitude to these things compared to other universities, and LSE is definitely the worst offender (their law soc are typically a nightmare to deal with where they can get sponsorship money so easily).

Do you think it is likely different because of the lack of campus environment? We are a lot more willing to walk about in PJs, attend lectures with slippers, and just be general grotbags.

Aww bless, we must source one for you. As I was walking home it did often led to drunkards asking if I would represent them, should the night end badly for them. So it helps you make friends with other law students, and the dastardly locals.

And as far as I could tell, these were distributed by the Law School rather than the law soc. The law soc had their own specific hoodies, which were much more garish. Maybe I am being ignorant on this one -- J-SP will no doubt correct me.

Maybe it’s a case of where so many were given out, it became more acceptable. This is the first instance I have heard of a law faculty giving hoodies to everyone - only ones I have heard of or sponsored have been via the law society (either exec ones or subsidised ones that law society members can buy).

There's always a first! It is done every year, and it's the Law School name and only a single sponsor on the back.

Not sure why I am saying this, if my old Law School is literally the only one which does this.

It might not be the only one - it’s just the only one I have heard of.

Now thinking about it, I think I recall seeing a lot of them on the campus a few years ago - just assumed they were exec ones.

Really? Well, you might have seen me then. I was the tall one in a grey hoodie, and probably had a pocket full of Roses.

No, it was actually quite thick (for a pen) covered with s very, very, very high quality plastic cover (felt like faux leather in a way) and was super comfortable to write with. Used it till the very last drop of ink!

Tbf, we do love our stash and wear it with pride no matter what subject/society/sport you do (or don't do).

Yeah, it made me think that it was something to do with being a campus uni. You do see it a lot at Durham and Oxbridge too -- but a lot less at the quasi-campus Bristol. We're tacky mother****as, in short.
