Could the Police get Involved? Worried!!

Hello,
I am in the UK and I have suffered from social anxiety for most of my life (I'm 18). Well, when I was at school before I left there was this girl that is three years younger than me so she is 15. I never picked up the courage to go and speak to her. I now think that maybe she is too young for me and I shouldn't try and get her anyway, she's 16 soon I do believe. Well I have her on Instagram and I tended to look at her profile quite a lot a few months back but I never said anything to her as she is underage and I think I should just leave it? I think maybe I should have spoken to her at school or whilst looking at her profile but now worrying that as shes under 16 the police will be coming for me as I did look at her profile quite a few times. I am quite outgoing with friends but shy to strangers. I Would like to know your opinions and just want to get this thought that I've done something illegal out of my head, so let me know.
Thank you

I am exactly like you - shy with strangers but not with friends. I dont know if I have social anxiety but hey - a discussion for another time.

Anyways - the police won't care that you looked at her profile a lot. They have better things to do than monitor what you are up to on social media.

It’s not a criminal offence to look at an Instagram profile.
No they won’t.

Assuming the profile is, you know, a normal profile, no nude photos or anything. Honestly, you’ll be fine. I dont even think what you’ve done is illegal. It’s not like you’ve got together with the girl, met up or anything.
There is no possible criminal offence for looking at non-pornographic images of a 15-year-old, even if you looked at the pictures 24 hours a day.

There is no way for you to be reported, either.

They may have accessed your camera while you were looking it at her profile. It depends on the type of "activities" you were doing while stalking her profile. You could be facing some serious jail time indeed...

The scaremongering is real..
Chris Hansen will be there shortly.

I'm sure instagram will wonder why a 15 yr old girl's photo keeps being loaded in their system database lol

Well, if Instagram only hosted this lassie's pics, then maybe an employee might notice. Unfortunately, hundreds of millions of users are difficult to keep track of. Until Skynet comes online that is, and then OP is ****ed.

That is good to hear, thought I was worrying about nothing
like others said, it's not illegal and you won't be reported (unless they are of a pornographic nature)

Personally, i'd still stop looking at a 15 year old girl's pictures though...
There's a lot of threads concerning the police today.:ninja:

Very suspect.

It is just a normal Instagram and I have done for a while now but obviously I did like her a lot.

I really don’t think any are of pornographic nature but when does an image become pornographic?

When you can see parts of her body that would otherwise be covered by a bikini.

Oh so the private parts showing? So like a crop top wouldn’t count?

Crop tops are nothing. Many girls wear them out on a day to day basis. If these photos are of them wearing clothes they would wear outside then I can guaantee that they do not fall under pornography.

Many many 15 year olds have Instagram accounts that show questionable amounts of skin, and many many others on the internet will look at these photos. If we used your logic then nearly everyone who has stumbled across one of these photos who is over 18 will have gone to the police, and since nobody has, then I can confidently tell you that you are worrying over nothing.
The police couldn't care less.

Yeah that’s good news. Like I tried to see what defines porn but it seems like it is a bit of a grey area really, I guess mostly it is anything that defines ‘sexual’
