Yes and when you're part of an organisation trying to stop poverty/abuse globally, given the nature of most sex workers, it's likely that they're the people you're meant to be helping, not taking advantage of their desperation.

That is irrelevant. Any hint that aid is dependent on corruption, sexual favours or bribery is a big no-no, as is the possibility of well-paid foreign aid workers taking advantage of the straits the locals find themselves in.

In addition, there is the implicit implication that they were using Oxfam funds to pay for their 'extra curricular activities'. Like it or not, politicians, health care workers, teachers, boy scout leaders, ministers, are supposed to set an example for the rest of us - mainly the younger 'impressional' set. Yes. I am suggesting that they can't go 2 weeks without a shag. I am making the point of that they presumably paid the girls and both parties were happy. If anything, a influx of foreign currency to purchase a local services counts as an export of goods which will have raised the GDP and be subject to positive multiplier effects in the local economy. Prostitution occurs because of poverty and corruption. Oxfam's role is to stop this and aid those unfortunate enough to participant in such acts to feed their families.
