But I also adore languages (they are my passion and I either want to study maths, languages or linguistics at uni)

Just choose whichever you enjoy the most
If you cant decide - which are you better at?
Which has the better teachers?

I mean if you want to do languages in the future then do another language as your reserve if you feel like you can do that

i am in year 11 and i chose art because i absolutely love it and knew i wanted to do it for a level. i'm finding it very stressful but not unmanageable but there are people in my class who only chose it to fill an option block or because they thought it was an easy subject, however now they are regretting it because you HAVE to keep on top of the coursework and you have to put the effort in to get the best grades. you don't necessarily have to be the best artist, it's more about how you analyse things and your creativity in ideas and linking to the theme etc. so choose it if you love art and you want to continue it at a higher level, but don't choose it if you aren't 100% sure

I did Art at GCSE and while I enjoyed it, it took up so much time and was easily the most stressful subject I have ever done. I’m not saying don’t do it but keep in mind that you will probably end spending A LOT of time on it.

If you are going to choose art you have to be prepared to spend a lot of your time doing the coursework and exam prep. I took it because I enjoyed it but honestly GCSE art kind of sucked the fun out of it for me, with the strict deadlines and massive workload. It is a very rewarding subject seeing your sketchbooks and pieces come together, however I often found it distracted me from doing revision and work from other subjects I deemed more important.
But saying this, if you haven't ever studied German before i'm not sure how you'd cope with an entirely new language at GCSE.
