Can I get into a Russell Group university with these GCSEs?

I got:

A* - English Literature (8)
A* - English Language (8)
A - Religious Studies
A - Geography
A - Additional Science
B - Core Science
B - Sociology
B - Maths (6)
C - Psychology
C - Spanish
C - Further Additional Science

I'm taking psychology, sociology and biology at A-Level with an EPQ.

Yes. 24 universities belong to the RG, so you have an excellent chance.

Your GCSE grades will not hinder you (apart from Oxford and possibly Cambridge? I know Oxford are fussier with GCSEs). Your A-Levels matter A LOT more.

Thanks.. I can't get over the fact that I only got a C in psychology and a B in sociology.. I was predicted A*s, I got A*s in my mocks but I don't know what happened! I was confident after the exams.. it's sad because I want to do psychology at uni but a C doesn't look great..

Don't worry about it  Just focus on your A-Levels.

Typically they look at your GCSE’s to check your maths/English grades - RG unis will expect a B, which you have, and some even a C - I presume that’s the most important part of your gcse grades so I wouldn’t worry  as said your a levels are what really count!

I know someone who got into Birmingham (a Russell group uni) to study History with only CCCCCCCCBBBB so you have a great chance. Even Russell group universities have little interest in GCSE's, except for Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and LSE. As long as you have good A Levels and PS you will be fine.
