Medicine -> Comp sci?

Being in Yr12 you still have time to decide.

You definitely seem to be motivated to have a career in computing and have researched this well and you have your family supporting you in your decisions.

See if you are able to take an AS in computing next year alongside your A2s to give you something a bit more up to date when applying to university.

Why are you still undecided about medicine vs computing? Your whole post was about computing and you spoke enthusiastically about it - is there another side you haven’t said or another reason you’re still considering Medicine?

This year I’ve applied to Medicine (and got offers!) and I know it’ll be a long and hard journey to be OMG a doctor but I’m motivated to go through with that which is what is needed as otherwise people tend to either drop out of med school or at the end of the degree pursue another career.

If you’re still undecided I would recommend having a full conversation with your parents, your tutor and a careers advisor (not necessarily all at once!) so you can plan and make confident decisions.

I do honestly feel incredibly motivated to do comp science and AS computing sounds brilliant!

Thanks I feel like if I strive and use my talents I could potentially work at my dream-Apple.

Honestly there are no other sides when I think about computer science I get too excited and it{and space:} are what I think about even in the worst parts of my life like when I broke my knee and was stuck at home.

When I think about apple and the company and working to go there I feel a sense of contingency and happiness that I cannot explain but life invigorates me.Its truly amazing.

It seems to fulfil money, happiness,motivation and interests and all areas of my life.

Is aiming towards apple{I absolutely love this company}solely unhealthy as such?

Having an aspiration to work at a specific company isn't nessecarily a bad thing, but you do have to ask yourself why a job at Apple? There are going to be many companies where you would be doing what is essentially the same job. And for that matter do you have a specific idea of what type of job within a tech company you'd want? Because I'm almost certain that will influence how much you enjoy work more than which company you are working for

I absolutely love apple.From their products to their values as a company.

To delve into this my attractions originates from the idea of their attention to detail to the core founding idea that the user experience must be at the heart of all projects and products.This I cannot agree with any more.

And I know this sounds superficial but I feel a sense of excitement and belonging if I think about a potential future where I work at apple and rise the ranks as apple believe engineers should be in too position not just MBA/etc.

Also in terms of position within computer engineer{or is it computing?} I was thinking hardware aspect of things since that peaks my curiosity.

It might be a good idea to self teach further maths? Maybe up to AS during summer and then join the A2 class at school or something? Just so it makes your A levels more attractive to the 'top' unis.

So are my three a level Biology Chemistry and Mathematics suitable for computing at a top uni?
I have the potential to take up computing but that’s it.

Would the resultant 4be a strong set for day oxbridge or UCL etc or...?

Technically it should be fine as you meet the requirements, however you'd be a lot more competitive if you had further maths, and I'd personally take that up rather than Comp Sci

But what can I do I’m already halfway through AS.i just want to cry.
