Court tells Facebook to delete all data on non-users it got through tracking cookies

I suppose this is a good start, but law needs to catch up fast. These sites can track and profile you just as reliably, if not more so, without cookies. They're all hung up on the cookie itself when the issue should be the actual tracking regardless of what method they use. Banning a specific method like tracking cookies does nothing to stop tracking.

I know, but I'm sure Facebook isn't the only organisation doing such a thing. Sad really.

Oh they definitely aren't.

Just look at this site - Google, Facebook, and Twitter are all here with their tracking scripts, along with a few other companies.

But this court judgement will encourage more people to bring lawsuits against the other big tracking companies for similar actions.
