Newcastle or durham?

Hi, I am so not sure what uni to choose!! Loved the northern unis as everyone was so friendly, but can't decide between durham or newcastle. The course is pretty smilier at both, but Newcastle seems much more partyish and I am not a huge clubber so not sure if I would fit in / is there lots of other stuff to do and what are the more relaxed halls? Durham was a really nice town but very small and a lot of the people for my course seemed quite unenthusiastic and just sad about getting rejected from oxbridge, so not sure I would fit in here either! Help!

Hi Riley-jane55,

I definitely second that Open Day visits are the best way to decide! You can find more information and book onto ours here: http://www.ncl.ac.uk/undergraduate/open-day-visits-fairs/open-days/

With regard to the city, Newcastle has so much more to offer than nightlife! Check out our student blogs here for a better taste of student life in the Toon:

And I wouldn't worry about fitting in, there will be so many different personalities at any University you choose - it's simply a case of finding your people (for which societies are a great place to start!) 😊

Best wishes,

Susie
