Student halls or private halls?

Hoping to go to University of Liverpool in September and i have applied for University accommodation, however private halls tend to be cheaper.
Obviously university halls are more sociable but are private halls still popular? What would everyone else recommend, keen to hear if anyone has experienced private halls and which you guys think are better. Thanks xx

student halls are more sociable, private halls not so much. If you're saving a decent amount of money by choosing private, id go with that.

Its not something i'd be concerned with; the main thing is fresher's week; thats where you'll meet most of your new friends.

Thanks! Private halls aren’t drastically cheaper, but they seem to be nicer rooms for your money. But i definitely think the uni halls are more convenient to get to lectures etc and probably will find it more social

Private Halls aren't specific to a particular university so you might have a mixture of students from John Moores (if LJMU is close to the accommodation) and also a mix of different year groups ranging from first-year all the way up to postgraduate.

Private halls.

You can socialise just as much. The friends you'll make are mostly going to be your course mates, so you'll always invite each other around.

Location is more important in my opinion.:wink:

Most likely. Both are very central.
Student halls are complete and utter luck. I ended up in halls with seven other people who completely ignored me. I don't do the clubbing and getting drunk thing so they ignored me. But my friends at other unis ended up with a great group of friends.
Student halls are worth a try but don't expect that it will be better than private every single time.
