Imperial Biochemistry/Biological Sciences

I read in many threads that many UK industries prefer Imperial graduates over Oxford/Cambridge's, but is this only true for engineering or does it apply for biochem/bios as well? (My plan is to work in academia)

If you want to stay in the field you will have to do postgrad study for which it makes no difference. Even otherwise a lot more will depend on your grads, experience and skills rather than where you studied so go where you find the course most interesting.
