Why is LSE so low, out of curiosity? Is it because they only specialise in politics/economics?
the only rankigns thar matter is that for ib

oxbridge / lse > rest
VC sent out an email a few hours ago about this. Doonesbury is getting slow.

Not sure why the VC Is telling people about QS rankings, given we've already been duped into studying at the uni. Note, he made no mention of the uni losing a few places in the overall ranking.

40% of the score comes from "academic reputation" where LSE's is weirdly low (90% compared to 95%+ for UCL and Imperial and 92% for Kings), and it has a very low student:faculty ratio (which you would expect in a uni that specializes in non science subjects). I'd say maybe as a smaller uni that doesn't specialize in science, the weightings are a little biased against them?

Or maybe internationally no-one really rates LSE, who knows?
Warwick has fallen in nearly everything even it's strongest math/economics

Here I was thinking it would cement itself a bit more in a stronger area

what's the point of re-posting this...? QS announced their 2018 rankings on the 8th June 2017.

Edinburgh's fallen down 7 places in Computer Science - one of it's strongest/flagship Schools (especially for AI).

It still holds a respectable rank though.

Quite a stretch to picture Cambridge as below Caltech.

Pretty sure UCL and Imperial grads basically have identical success rates
Also, isn't this old?

Excuse my ignorance, but why does KCL rank so high internationally but so low in our own national rankings?

International academics seem to rate it- more so than they rate LSE (for example). I wonder if it's the name? Or maybe some of them are confusing it with King's College, Cambridge?
Manchester down. Anyone want to give Wired a tissue?
