Hey guys, congratulations to anyone who got a place! Just wanted to pop in and offer some consolation to those who were rejected. I was rejected from UNIQ last year but I now have an offer from Oxford. The criteria for uniq is very heavily focused on your background so don't think you're not good enough!
I don’t think they focus on just that because I luckily got a place but didn’t meet any of the criteria. I have a feeling they heavily look at your personal statement thing

I wouldn’t be so bothered if I hadn’t had a second opportunity snatched away this week. However, I am going to a study day in March. The thing I’m most interested in though is when the invites to UNIQ Digital are being sent out. I’m presuming that these are out at a later date and I honestly can’t wait to get stuck in.
I think the invites to UNIQ Digital are already being sent out x I got an email saying I was picked fr UNIQ Digital today, and it said i’d Been put in the reserve pool for the residential, so I think i was rejected for the Biochem residential I applied for, but still chosen for Digital, idk.
Yeah - I’m really happy but I’m feeling quite nervous as I didn’t think I had any chance of getting on. Well done to you too!
I didn't think that I would either. Guess it's our lucky days!
Feel free to send a message across to me if you would like to chat a little bit before we go. It could be good to know someone a little bit before we go - totally up to you though, no pressure. ☺️
Hi, just got accepted on to the UNIQ summer school studying PPE. Just wondered if anyone else has a place, or if people who have been could share helpful tips and experiences?
I did UNIQ for economics in 2016 and for me, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. It felt like properly being at uni; staying away from home, turning up to lectures, making sure u have everything you need , going back to your room after a long day and having a shower, going out with new friends for lunch- definitely made me a more outgoing person.
I was in Brasenose and I actually had a whole two floors to myself!!! Turned up on the first day not knowing where to go but they have 10s of students there to escort you. You have dinner, then go outside for some games and ice breakers ( which are cheesy but do work). Then for the next few days, it’s intensive lectures, some work, some fun , going out with new friends , a comedy show , there’s even a party at a nightclub!! There are also various activities you could try out. My personal favourite experience was playing croquet with the princess of Lebanon( she paid 4k for 3 days at oxford with private security and everything).
Tips; make the most of it, ask questions, talk to people ( I’ve made friends there who now go to my uni ), listen, learn , look at their admissions policy and what they look out for and have fun. If I could do it again, I would.
