Access courses

Hi everyone, I’m hooing/planning to become a mature student in 2018/19 or 2019/20. I’m an RGN, I’ve got a Ba(Hons) and 60 M points. I’m seriously thinking about applying to do postgrad OT course. I think I’ll need an access course though. Has anyone done an access course? Where does one do an access course? Does anyone know if there are any distance learning access courses that are suitable/accepted for entry to do OT? Thanks everyone

1. You need to check whether an Access course will make your application viable or is needed at all. Uni entrance pages will tell you that.

2. You need to check funding, unless you are paying yourself. It may not be straightforward now you have a degree, as that may make you ineligible for funding. Talk to advanced learner loans.

3. There are two types of Access course that might work. Health and social care or science, but tbh if you became a nurse, then I cant see why you dont already meet the criteria and science. If you need any remedy then an A level might provide it.

Be wary of distance learning courses. they arent for everyone and can be hard plus have limited support.
