My news app sent me a notification with the result before the stream reached me and ruined it noooo

Uhhh idk, I liked the shape of water but it just felt like something was missing for me. I think compared to other years, I haven't felt as enthusiastic about the films in that category. The only one I truly loved, that truly moved me, was Lady Bird with Three Billboards coming at a close second

Definitely agree, I've not felt a connection with the films in this year's category and honestly just hoping next year's group will be better... don't think there are any classics this year but time will tell.

Yeah, exactly! I think the next couple of years will have a better offering because of people trying to top Black Panther's success, though I'd like to see BP nominated for visual effects or something, and we'll have Tarantino's new film coming out as well so there'll be some competition I think

I hope so :yep: I hope to see another strong diverse batch of quality movies soon!

imo McDormand deserved her Oscar but would have liked to have seen Saoirse Ronan win :/

Whole award show was ruined after This Is Me didn't win best song
Edgar Wright not winning Best Editing was a complete joke. I'm glad Blade Runner 2049 got best cinematography but Kong Skull Island should have won best vfx
