If you go to a good uni and get good grades you can sell your soul to big pharma, I've known one or two go to AstraZeneca etc, and I'm a really unsociable guy so there must have been a fair few!

Im just worried that i go do my medicinal chemistry degree for five years and i dont get a job or dont get much at the end

That's life we live in a very uncertainly economic climate, just do your best, prepare for the future, make sure you get summer internships to cut your teeth in a lab and then you have a fighting chance.
