Because the forum policy is for English.
If everyone spoke in their native languages then there would be a multitude of languages where it would exclude people who did not speak that language, make it harder to moderate if anything untoward was happening and make it harder to provide advice.

Go ahead speak French all the time, No skin off my nose.

PS if you wish to form a French student usergroup, then that might be more to your liking.

I haven't asked my predicted grades, But it must be around 17 if I look at my averages. I've applied for international relations in :
- King's College (offer received in November)
- Aberdeen
- Edinburgh
- St Andrews
- Cambridge (rejected)

It's becoming a bit long as I've applied to each university in early October. Regarding English certifications I didn't need to pass any for that matter, as I'm doing the French baccalaureate with the OIB, and it's recognised!

Congrats on your offer for King’s that’s awesome ! I’m in an international high school too in Lyon and a good part of my classmates are in an English section as well, makes it much more easier to apply abroad indeed haha. I’m doing the regular baccalauréat though. Hope you’ll get offers from the other unis!

Hey Guys,

I'm from Rennes and doing the French baccalaureate with the OIB.

Predicted grade: 16/17

I've applied for CompSci at:

-Glasgow (got an offer with 16/20, might be my insurance)
-King's College (got an offer with 15/20)
-Edinburgh (still waiting)
-St Andrews (I'll definitely firm it if I get an offer)
-Imperial (Don't know yet but sounds like I'm gonna be rejected)

Hey!
I applied for History to:
- LSE
- Durham
-UCL (got an unconditional offer)
- King's College London (got an unconditional offer)

I also applied to universities in the US!
I did my French Baccalaureate in June 2016 (I'm 18, I studied 1 year and a half at University but I dropped out for several reasons and applied to these schools) :smile:

Applying through UCAS was basically the same thing as for you, and I applied as a transfer student to US schools ^^
I did 1 year and a half of Political sciences and Sociology :smile:

OMG that’s awesome your applying to such prestigious Unis ! Colombia is my lifelong dream school. Have you heard from any US schools yet or from McGill ? Did you have to take SATs ?
Also do you think it’s easier to apply to Unis the way you did, after doing one year in France rather than before the Bac ?

Hey!

I was predicted 17/20 or 18/20 in general (I don't remember), but I had an "accident" in SES (I got 08/20 coeff 7... I lost 10 points compared to what I used to get with my teachers and with other professors from other high schools that were correcting our bacs blancs).

Therefore, I got 16,38/20 :smile:

So guys, I got into LSE with a 08/20 in Social and Economic Sciences (which is the main subject of that school!), so you can do it! Luckily, other subjects saved me...

I'm still hesitating between LSE and UCL to study History though (I'm more into the LSE community but the UCL content seems broader), so I would love to hear someone's opinion/help!

King's for International Relations (offer ✅)

LSE for International Relations ans History ( unsuccessful❌)

Warwick for Politics, International Studies and Sustainable development (Offer ✅)

Baths for Politics and International Relations
(Offer ✅)

UCL for European Social and Political Studies with specialism in International Relations. (Offer ✅)

I'm now torn between UCL and King's for my firm choice anyone has the same dilemma?

Any thoughts?

Honestly academically speaking, I would choose UCL for History. Plus I’m sure the student life there must be just as good as LSE. But then it’s an important choice and investment, don’t listen too much to others opinion and trust your guts !
Btw did you hear back from the Ivyes and other American colleges ?
