What are my chances to get into the University of Edinburgh as a EU student?

Edinburgh is my heart choice but I would love to get into St Andrews or Glasgow as well as they still have a great ranking! Stirling and Dundee are other choices so if I get into one of those two, I won't be disappointed. It's up to me and my work after all! :wink:

The Scottish Government places a cap on the number of Scottish/EU students Scottish universities can admit because they pay your fees for you.

Chances are it's probably more difficult to get an offer compared to your English counterparts.

Edinburgh publish their admission stats here

For English Language offer rate was 27% in 2016 for Scottish/EU (last year there are stats for) but 78% for rest of UK.
It's very much harder for Scottish/EU students to get an offer because of the cap on places.

Of course there's absolutely nothing wrong with aspiring - your chance goes down to 0% if you don't after all! Bonne chance! :yep:

Meh, you'll get in.

People have gotten into Oxbridge and LSE with worse grades than yours for uber competitive courses.

I have many friends (eu as well) who were rejected so I'm over the moon

I know some Cambridge offer holders with StA rejections (and they weren't even EU or Scottish applicants). It's a badge of honour :smile:

I know of an EU Oxford student also rejected from StA (for Physics I think)

Well done on your offer! If the stats from last year are similar, you're one of the 27% of Scottish and EU fee-status applicants that got a place for English Language :smile:
