Same as for any.

1. Organise revision with a study planner.

2. Get a decent revision book and make decent notes or mind maps. [are your good enough?]

3. Practice exams and writing essay plans. practice more. Timed.

Unfortunately we dont have revision guides, just mini booklets and textbooks
Also not to sure on how to set out my mindmap??

For mindmap, I find spider diagram the most useful format. Write a key event in the centre and then coming off this, write down the separate causes of this event, people involved etc. Timelines can also be useful

Essay Plans my friend.

The Tsardom and Communism topic is not at broad as you may think, so you can prepare questions that have a high chance of coming up.
Here are a few questions you may want to prepare for:
- Russia's Economy and working conditions during Nicolas II [Semi-Likely]
- Disparities between the rich and poor during the reign of Nicolas II [Unlikely]
- Causes of the 1905 Revolution [Likely]
- Nicolas II response to the revolution (Duma, Stolypin etc.) [Likely]
- Impact of the First World War on Russia [Semi-Likely]
- What led to the abdication of the Tsar [Highly Likely]
- Why the Provisional Government failed [Likely]
- October/November Revolutions (almost always a source question) [Unlikely]
- Impact of Lenin's Rise to Power [Likely]
- The Civil War Between the Reds and The Whites, and why the Reds Won [Semi-Likely]
- War Communism and the NEP [Likely]
- The Kronstadt rebellion (useful knowledge in relations to war communist)
- Stalin's rise to power [Likely]
- Stalin's Propaganda, The Cheka and his Cult of Personality (source question probably) [Semi-Likely]
- Stalin's Modernisation of the USSR and the impacts on the working class [Highly-Likely]
- Stalin and the Second World War [Semi-Likely]

Hope this helps in some way!
