SFE are giving Inconsistent information

So I was worried about my application recently because I sent in all my evidence etc and it got sent back saying that I didn’t provide them with anything valid. Because my passport is EU even though I’m a U.K. national...
They wrote that I needed to send in my passport and 5 years worth of residency.

So I called one of the advisors and the first told I DO NOT need to send anymore ID forms because my birth certificate has been processed and accepted as ID. I only need to send my residency forms.

The second advisor was standoffish and told me because I wrote on my application that I have an EU passport and therefore I need to send my original passport even if I have a U.K. birth certificate because I’m a national. She told me I cannot change this once I written it down. And what sucks is that I don’t have my passport because it’s lost!!
I’m so confused on what to do! Every time I call it’s a different answer?????!

Can anyone help!!!

Hi Daisyscarletg,

A student that applies to us must meet the normal residency criteria to be considered for student support. Dual nationality gives you the benefit of two nationalities

As a UK national you only need to have provided three years residency history on the application and valid identity evidence.

We have no specific account access on The Student Room, if you can call or contact us on Twitter or Facebook, we can look into this further for you,

Tel: 0300 100 0607
(Open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 8.00pm and between 9.00am and 4.00pm on Saturday. Local call rates apply).

Hi Daisyscarletg,

You are dual nationality, you can apply as either UK or EU national.

A UK national can supply valid UK Passport details or Birth Certificate/Adif.

An EU national can supply a valid EU Passport or National Identity Card and five years residency evidence.

We have no access to specific accounts on the Student Room, please call or contact us on Twitter or Facebook, we can then look at your application,

Tel: 0300 100 0607
(Open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 8.00pm and between 9.00am and 4.00pm on Saturday. Local call rates apply).
