Really? Try doing GCSE and A level back in my day, you kids have it easy, been getting easier year on year.
Be under no illusion: it did not used to be easier.

true. but these exams are getting harder
It would be interesting to construct some kind of timeline of birth dates that showed what educational structure and what miscellaneous other government programmes applied to people born on those dates. Unfortunately (dammit, Jim!), I’m a biochemist, not a graphic designer.

They change stuff all the time, my year was the first year to do the new linear a levels and countless other years will be have been the first to do their new spec

I've actually tested out this whole 'it keeps getting easier' mentality some people have and found that the difficulty has always been about the same whether you go back 20 years or simply look at last years paper?

I did the new spec A-Levels and I was born in 1998. So not just you guys. Also the systems change every few years so it really isn't just people born in 2001.

Back in my day we left school at 12 years old to work the farms and we LIKED it!

Just gives older people an excuse to sh*t on younger people. It always has and will happen. A lot of perceived difficulty is probably due to the change in specs, if anything. Take a teenager from the 90s forward in time to now and they'd probably get knobbed by modern papers.

Shock horror. So? I got through the new A-Levels, as did everybody else who took them last year too. Just put in the effort and you'll be fine.

Individual papers fluctuate in difficulty year on year.

It's just the exam boards just give 2 crappy specimen papers which is not enough. The lack of resources is appalling imo.
