Days to go?: It's done! :woohoo:

Probably the most important way to prepare for maths is to do plenty of past papers! You can find the more recent papers here and the older ones here.

Also, Physics & Maths Tutor has some good resources for revision - everything from revision notes to questions on specific topics. You can find the Core 2 materials here.

Good luck with the preparations everyone, let the countdown commence!

Hi,
I am doing revision for MPC2 AQA Maths old specification and have one question. Let`s say you worked out the full formula to find required value, next step is to put all the values in. Is it ok to use a calculator and give the required value in the next line or will you lose marks? Example:

b^2 = a^2 + c^2 - 2*a*c*cosB
b^2 = 13.5^2 + 9.25^2 - 2*13.5*9.25*cos 41(deg)
b^2 = 79.32 (4sf)

or should I replace the last line with this one:

b^2 = 182.25 + 86.5625 - 249.75*0.7547

Thanks

You won't need to put that last line in, it'll be fine

Will there be anyone providing an unofficial mark scheme
What did everyone get

The 5 mark question. I did simultaneous equations from.

16p+q=16
121p+q=100

Then worked everything out. Anyone else??
Great paper, seemed easier than core 1. But the last question done me dirty
Reply 7
Overall it didnt seem overly hard.
Reply 8
This paper was ****ing easy except for the last logs question.

Probably gonna be like 65 for an A; grade boundaries gonna be high for C2 this year.

Grade boundaries will be consistent with previous years. The reason you found it a lot easier was likely because C2 seems a lot easier in comparison to c3 and c4.
What an easy paper!

P=4/5 and q=16/5

Length=14

Some of the answers I can remember
copied down the question wrong. bases should be swapped.
How did you do the trig question 9sinx^2 2sinxcosx = 8
Reply 14
16/log 2 (25/9) for the last
one anyone?

u4=83.2?

Yep 👍🏾👍🏾

For the area of the shaded region I think I got 91cm^2
saw someone incorrectly use the wrong bases, here is the CORRECT answer for 7bii:

p = 15/4

I also I got 16/log3/5 for the last one.

How did you do the trig question 9sinx^2 2sinxcosx = 8

on the RHS make 8=8(sinx^2+cosx^2)
divide everything by cosx^2
rearrange
