I was so shocked. It was so graphic. After watching beyond the reasons I found out what happened to ..... is common.
The show tries too hard to be ~ controversial ~ and about ~ dark issues ~ they felt like they had to somehow made it about school shooting too.

But once again, they're still focusing on, in both cases, placing the blame instead of their painfully obvious mental health issues.

Yh, but I feel like nowadays, shows are trying to be politically correct, by adding lgbtq characters and things like that. Season 2, is just for money as the actual author of the book didn't write another part. They throw in all these relevant things, but bryce hasn't been truly punished. (btw there'll defo be a season 3) What is that supposed to make rape victims feel like? Like their offenders will never be dealt with?
They should've gone ahead and have Tyler shoot people at the Dance. It would've been more interesting, more controversial with what's happening today. It would've hit a lot of feels and it would've been a really good plot for Season 3 if there is one. Season 3 could've been about the two sides of school shooters, the side where he was singled out constantly and the other side that he basically killed several people.

If there is a Season 3 now though it would be kind of stretched.. a season about a kid who 'almost' shot up the school.. not as interesting

The main message of the show seems to be that "never seek help, never do the right thing, never speak up for anyone, never respect anyone".

Hannah and Jessica spoke up about their rape, and were slut-shamed. The serial rapist got a completely unrealistic sentence for someone who's convicted of rape. In the US, the average sentence is 9.8 years, and even Brock Turner, the one many like to cite, got a few months in jail and 3 years on probation, without getting convicted of rape.

Justin spoke up for Jessica, tried to clean up his acts. Result? Jail.

Clay stopped a mass shooting, what's it looking like now that he's holding a gun with the police coming?

The counsellor spoke up for Hannah. Fired. And once again, very unrealistic. They would never have fired him before the trial was done - they would've looked guilty and possibly would've broken the law.

Jessica told the victims about the photographs, and what happened? The victims still in denial and the evidence was gone.

And it would've been OK if that's what they're claiming they're going on. But they're desperately holding on to the moral high ground with all these claims that they are doing this to help people and so forth. Sure, they talked about how they're always reasons why not, but not only was that a "blink and you miss it" moment, there were fewer reasons why not (which were never explored) than why.

Nope. The show sets its goal to punish all good deeds and make all good people suffer, so this makes sense.

Tyler could never have shot people, because that way the show would actually be punishing bad people, which seemed to be a big no-no from the writers.

Also, they need to have Clay holding the gun so another innocent good person could be jailed.

This is misery porn.
Did anyone watch the whole thing? It is kind of boring and self-pitying and kind of portrays suicide in an inappropriate way.
in my opinion that scene with tyler in the bathroom was awful, usually i am not sensitive to stuff like that, i can bare watching it but that make my stomach churn i was physically sick in my mouth (tmi?) i was crying so much i understand that there was a warning and whatever but i definitely did not expect that.

as for thé end of the final episode i though it was kind of predictable i though from the first episode of s2 that tyler and cyrus would be behind a shooting i was waiting for it all season, i think that maybe they should have got through with it possible having tyler shoot some minor characters i think the way it ending with tony picking him up was a bit anticlimactic

i used to not understand why some people didn’t like the show and how it was played out but as we got nearer to the end of this season i understood why. some of the things they did could give young people the wrong idea. for example with jess speaking out about the rape and then justin getting a worse sentence than bryce did, it kind of makes it seem like girls shouldn’t speak up because in the end if you have enough money and power the criminal will get away with what they’ve done.

if you speak out in front of a bully you’ll get brutally attacked in the bathroom. i genuinely though that by the end of season 2 bryce would be in jail paying for what he’s done but instead he gets transferred to a fancy school where no one knows him. he gets to start off fresh while everyone at liberty high has to carry on going to school with people as evil as montgomery.

although i am glad that scott came out of it as one of the good guys and clay seemed to final let go of hannah, i was happy with that justin and jess scene and the fact that clays parents are adopting justin. i’d like what happened to skye though she was probably one of my favourite characters it’s a shame she left
I think Justin getting a worse sentence than Bryce was meant to highlight that in many cases, this is how they turn out. Not a lot of reported rapes go to trial, and the ones which do are not always sentenced fairly. I think this in itself is meant to provoke a reaction from the audience and encourage them to be proactive in their own lives to try and change this if they can, or at least know that it is an issue.

Additionally I think it highlights that, even today, those who are richer are treated better. You would expect the courts to disregard people's wealth and focus solely on the crimes they have/have not committed, however in Bryce's case it is obvious that his wealth played a part in his sentence even if it was indirectly.

The reason why I like this show is because it is accurate in portraying the way that people can behave. In season 1 when Hannah received a lot of unwanted attention; the list, the date which was just a dare, the shared photos. This attention was a type of harassment which is not your typical bullying, but is still completely able to happen. The attack on Tyler was very disturbing and I found it quite difficult to watch. However I do think it played a part in the show. There are thousands of schools across the world, and I think it is very likely that an attack like this has happened before.

The next season should focus on the lives of the students, without any regard to Hannah. They have all got their own stories to tell and have to continue living life. Showing that life continues after death I think is an important message. I would like to see where they go college, and essentially what happens next for the living characters.

trust me the ending was so boring. they just set it up for another season. why tyler didnt take the gun with him idk....
and for those that are complaining about tylers rape and saying the show should be cancelled you are dumb.
1. - show is rated 18
2. - warning at the start of the episode

They already made me cringe by having to give so many warnings before and after each episode. Why are some kids so stupid to need these kind of things. (I mean the constant warnings to not be encouraged by the bad stuff) not the mental health help. That's real.

At least they made it realistic though, that's what would've happened in real life. Rich [x] White American [x] Had relations with high people in high places [x]

When Bryce's girlfriend didn't talk about the fact she got raped by him. Even with the photo. Even the experiences with him when they're alone. Maybe it's because they lost the photos idk but still really annoyed me

i cant stop thinking about it. It really made me sad.
You think thats bad. If you got Amazon Prime just go straight to 19-2 season 2 episode 2. No context needed and its such a graphic episode. Shooting throughout and i had a pillow to my face jeez. The reality of it was mindblowing tbh
