Phone apple, I did the same thing and any photos that are believe were taken in the last 30 days can be retrieved(may be have deleted in the last 30 days).
Either way it's possible to retrieve some but you need to phone apple and do it asap because the earlier you phone the more likely they can sort it

Firstly, see if they have been copied to iCloud or Dropbox or similar.

Otherwise, it should be possible tor restore deleted stuff with some software or other - unfortunately, I've no experience with doing that with an iphone.

Thank you! I’m not very tech savvy at all. How would I check if it’s on iCloud ?

Yh if you backed them up to a computer then they would be there *I think*. Try restoring your phone with the latest backup maybe...?
