Please help in yr 10

English is one subject where you learn by talking so I suggest you just pick a quote and talk about it to either yourself and record it or do it with your friends. And as far as learning the quotes is concerned, you don't need to remember it word for word. You should just be able to reference it throughout your essay. Yes, you need to learn some famous quotes like " we are all members of one body" from An Inspector Calls but other than that, you just need to know certain words in the quote that you can analyse.
P.S. The reason why I'm saying to talk about the quotes because to get the higher marks, you need to be able to come up with original and multiple interpretations.

Mr Bruff on YouTube helped me, I did the same texts as you are doing (I've just took my literature exams) and trust me he is a lifesaver.

Yep I have just done my English Literature GCSE but I didn't really have to learn these quotes in year 11 as I already did the hard work in year 10 and it was so much better so I suggest that you learn the quotes in year 10 so then you are more comfortable with them in year 11.

For poetry, I just think of multiple interpretations and try and connect them together.
Also, make sure you have a critical style and use tentative language e.g. "one may ascertain that..."
Obviously, don't forget to embed your quote.
