unsure about the course i've chosen

From someone that has nearly completed his L3 IT, I would say stay away from IT/Business, you learn a little but mostly the art of rewording text. BTEC Engineering or Applied Sciences would be more useful IMO.

A STEM course would be the best route if your going to do a BTEC, thats just my opinion. As any STEM course would improve your analytical skills and just general thinking capability, there is alot of career prospects and opportunities and there will be alot more, since computers are starting to take over peoples jobs as computers can do it themselves. Im doing Engineering atm, Im enjoying it, but obviously others wont. If you are curious as to how things work, aswell as liking maths and physics, you should go for it as thats what engineering is mainly about.

STEM courses are just any course related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. If you dont like any of these subjects and you want to do a BTEC level 3, the only other common BTEC level 3 courses that most colleges provide are health and social care, business studies, travel and tourism and performing arts.

Some colleges offer some 'rare' courses that most colleges won't offer such as Music Technology Level 3 Diploma which the city of liverpool college offers. I dont know any other colleges in the UK that do this asides from liverpool (there probably is but I havent heard of any). I saw in a reply to someone else's comment that you wouldn't mind doing something music related so maybe try find that course, but bare in mind look into it, as in what are the UCAS points you'll get for doing that course as you may have a limited amount of undergraduate courses you can go to with that sort of qualification. Also I saw that you'd love doing something like physics and astronomy at BTEC level 3, I dont have much insight into BTEC level 3 courses that specialise in physics aswell as astronomy, but depending on the modules and units a college offers, I know for a fact that most Applied Science BTEC level 3 courses cover physics, but only some Applied Science BTEC level 3 courses also cover astronomy.
