Jordan is Palestine.

I see a lot of people talking about Palestine.

So how many people are willing to admit that they didn't know that the area referred to as 'Palestine' is not just Israel, but also the much larger country of Jordan?

The British had mandate over the area known as 'Palestine' until 1922, after the break up of the Ottomon Empire.

This land was used to create two countries, one Jordan and one Israel.

(Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Iraq were also founded out of Ottomon land, all previously part of Turkey).

And this was supposed to be the way the country was divided (a river as the border):

truncatedmap1.jpg

Everybody in Jordan is actually a 'Palestinian'.

The Palistinians in the West Bank had Jordanian citizenship until it was revoked in 1988 and they were left stateless.

77% of the land area called 'Palestine' actually became 'Jordan', 23% was supposed to be Israel.

Hands up if you didn't know this? And do you now understand why Israeli's build settlements in the West Bank?

It is because the Palestinians in the West Bank are Jordanian refugees, who were abandoned by the part of Palestine which was supposed to be for them (Jordan).

Why is it fair that Israel gets the blame for the 'stateless' Palestinians on their land, when 77% of Palestine became Jordan where they were supposed to live? And they had equal rights with Jordanians until Jordan abandoned them in 1988?

Why do people see the answer as being Israel giving up some of their territory to create a country called 'Palestine', when 'Palestine' was already turned into Israel and Jordan, and Israel only got 23% of it?

The answer in my eyes is to Jordan to give back Jordanian citizenship to those in the West Bank (after they took it away) and for new cities to be build east of the river in Jordan. That's how it was supposed to be.

Why is Israel seen as the bad guy, it should be Jordan who are seen as the bad guys?

Israel is the bad guy because of the treatment it has meted out to the Palestinian people over the years. The fact is the western powers connived to make a state for Zionists as the Jewish diaspora were not accepted in the West through anti semiconductor persecution. Had they been accepted they would never have looked back and they are unique in this behaviour towards them since humans tend to mix and become accepted. The US is a perfect case for this where immigrants are accepted except for the Jews who still left there to help create the state of Israel. This view is borne out by the case that Holocaust Jews who were prevented to go back to eastern European countries were put on board and not accepted at any European ports and forced to head to Palestine. These people were amalgamated into Israel. Throughout this the poor people of Palestine were left dissposessed in their own lands, Israel does not acknowledge these people's rights to self determination. The argument Israel makes is changing as they takeover more of Palestine, it's interesting you refer to Palestine on the map and not Israel.

The parasitic method of occupation of Palestine and subsequent treatment of the Palestinian people's at the UN by world powers which enables Israel to cause misery and enables them to kill Palestinian while deligimising their struggles and calling them 'stateless' when Palestine is their state, one which is not allowed to be 'created' at the UN is another heinous and cowardly act which Israel takes full advantage of for further dispossession and justifying their criminal behaviour.

To summarize this was the plan through the Balfour Agreement which further lends credence to the view a concerted plan to dispossess the Palestinians has reached its fruition after much machinations of Zionist intent in the West for many years. That a formula for dispossession and deligitimising and inhuman degradation is being applied to legitimise the cause of the 'Greater Israel Project' and the next phase being to widen the border including lands past the Jordan River, including parts of Sinai and the Syrian territories is part of the upheavals currently facing the ME.

But Jordanians ARE Palestinians.

Has Israel treated Jordan badly?

The Palestinians in the West Bank are trespassing on Israeli territory and Jordan should be forced to take them.

It seems to be that a 'two state solution' should be based on the 1922 mandate. Jordan is Arab Palestine, and Israel is Jewish Palestine.

Israel and Jordan are not at war, and everybody will be safe?

Gaza can be invaded, Hamas eradicated, and the citizens of Gaza who aren't islamists can be moved to Jordan.

A split of 23% - 77% is fair, but because of the illegal occupation of Arab Palestinians in the West Bank they have far less than 23%.

The problem is Jordan abandoning them, and Jordan taking them and Israel perhaps helping Jordan to build new cities east of the river is the solution. That is the 'two state solution'.

Really those who want the West Bank to become another country are advocating a 'three state solution' which was never agreed.

Why? The presence of stateless Jordanian refugees on Israeli territory is a very current problem.

the Scriptures describe a very different land than that of the secularist 'democratic' sometimes 'theocratic' Israeli state, cousin. It's liking comparing Moses and Netanyahu, an oxymoron if anything.

This is false. There was a mandate for 3 countries out of the old Palestine. Israel is Israel. Gaza and the West Bank are Palestine, and Jordan is Jordan.

Israel should not occupy the West Bank or Gaza, while Palestine should not seek (and as far as I’m aware, have given up) to extend their borders, Gaza and the West Bank want to live within their border under the full sovereignty of the name Palestine, without illegal Israeli occupation and interference.

Your answer is 100% accurate... minus the small error that you’ve completely tried to remove the fact that there is a mandate for a state called Palestine formed of the West Bank and Gaza, suddenly it’s now completely inaccurate.

Transjordan was added to The British Mandate for Palestine but I suppose it never was part of the Palestine province?

Why dont you give then back the occupied territories including East Jerusalem?

Maybe that and the subsequent treatment of the palestinians is why you are seen as the bad guys?

Why do people call it the 'two state solution' then?

Now people want a third state?

But Hamas and Fatah hate each other, so now it must be a fourth state?

Then what, a fifth state?

Palestine was split into two states - Jordan and Israel. The two state solution was an overwhelming success. Apart from when Jordan abandoned the West Bank people, and now Israel has to cope with refugees who hate them.

People blame the British but their plan was clear..... Palestine to be two states, Israel and Jordan. It was a logical and fair plan.

Then after the British handed over the country the United Nations got involved and announced the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine.

So people must stop blaming the British for the West Bank, and start blaming the UN. They changed the agreed plan, after many Jews had arrived to escape the holocaust.

Plus this was only a 'recommendation' from the UN anyway, and seeing as neither group of people has complied with it then it becomes invalid.

The original 1922 plan made the most sense, and that was the plan until the UN started messing around with it in 1948.

Jews went to Israel on the understanding that Israel was theirs and Jordan's was the arabs. It made sense, two strong nations with their own defenses and social and welfare practices.

Instead the UN insisted on ghettos being created, and that is why those in the West Bank became stateless.

It is not the fault of the British or the Israeli's. It is the fault of Jordan for leaving their kin stateless, and the UN for getting involved with their crackpot ideas.

It is time to return to the logical British plan, for Palestine to be split into two states - Israel and Jordan. Then we shall have peace.

Look at Ireland and Northern Ireland, in Northern Ireland they did not create a third area called Catholikastan, instead the catholics get the right to an Irish passport. Those in the West Bank should get their Jordanian passport, as was the original plan.

The British always have the best ideas, and there's was the plan that the holocaust survivors signed up to when they migrated.

Me? Me?

Oh, is this antisemitism again?

You ask the British Jew to give back an area in a country that he doesn't live in, that he has no passport for?

Do you ask your Pakistani muslim taxi in Leeds to driver to justify Taliban territory in Afghanistan?

I am on this thread as a British person discussing the merits of the original and logical British plan for Palestine, and telling people that to blame Britain for the problems is wrong, because their plan was logical and would have worked and would still work.

Transjordan and Israel are BOTH part of the original AREA known as 'Palestine'.

The country was split into two, Israel and Jordan.

Only the UN then got involved in 1948 and recommended the creation of arab ghettos in parts of Israel.

Are there Jewish areas in Jordan also I wonder? Did the Jewish go live in an area of Jordan and refuse to leave? And if they did, would Israel abandon them like the Jordanians did to the West Bank refugees?

Oh get over yourself with the anti semitism you make me laugh. Pathetic. No need to always be the victim.
Its one of the most cringeworthy attempts to play the Jewish card I have seen on TSR. utterly shameful.

One of the major reasons Israel is resented is because it has kept hold of the occupied territories and East Jerusalem , which belongs to the Palestinians.
There will never be peace in the Middle East until Israel gives it back and the Palestinians can form their own state.

Like Millwall, Israel doesn't care if you don't like them.

They aren't going anywhere and will destroy anybody who tries to destroy them. Even if its all five of their neighbours at once, and millions of Jews from around the world will help to fund the defense of Israel and flock to Israel to assist the war.

And many other non-Jews, including real Christians, will join in the struggle. God gave Israel to the Jews, and the Jews aren't giving it back.

Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Koran a single time, and yet you claim it must be shared. Do you demand that Saudi Arabia allows Jews and Christians into Mecca?
