bacteria question -
higher temp = closer to optimum temp for enzymes so fast growth
reference to lag, log, stationary then death phase

wheat question
lower genetic diversity due to inbreeding for desired characteristics
needs gene pool of highly diverse wild wheat to ensure that these can be sporadically introduced into population
higher diversity prevents disease spread or other catastrophic events

no it was sympatric speciation - the Foosa evolved from an ancestor of the Mongoose, they threw some stuff in about cats to throw you off

Ye they were geographically isolated on the island (seperated from Africa and the island may have contained lots of mountain ranges and forests so different selection pressures so speciation.
