Aqa gcse maths 8300h paper 3

What did u get for choosing g the method A or Method B for the 4digit code method A was 9711 and method B was 8989 and I chose method A is that right???

It was 400 possibilities for B and 315 for A o option B was better

I got 400 for b but 410 or something for A. Idk tho

I got 1/18 I found out the hcf for 72 and 120 and found out lcm of 6 and 9 the hcf was 2 and the lcm was 36 so I did 2/36 and simplified it to 1/18

How did everybody worked out the histogram question i did trial and error cuz I didn't know how else and got 300 is that right?!?

I got that too, not sure if you will get full marks as you were supposed to work out area of each square, which was 0.8 and use that.

hmmmm, i got the highest common factor for 72 and 120 as 24, then i got the lowest common multiple of 6 and 9 being 18... that meant the answer could have been 24/18=4/3
did anyone else get that?

Tangent Question:

P has x co-ordinate 4.
Substitute 4 into x²+y²=80
16+y² = 80
y² = 64
y = +8 or -8, however since P is under the x-axis, y must be negative, so y= -8 and P = (4, -8)
Work out change in y over change in x from origin to P, so 0--8/0-4 = -2. Equation of line perpendicular to tangent: y = -2x + c, and c = 0, so y = -2x.
Find the reciprocal of -2 to find the gradient of the tangent, so the gradient = -½ and the equation of the tangent is y = -½x + c
Substitute in 4 and -8 to find c, so -8 = -½ x 4 + c, -8 = -2 +c, c = -6
Equation of tangent = -½x-6
