How did you guys answer the question on the experiment to carry out the rate of hydrolysis for halogenoalkane?
what did you lot write for the synthetic route from benzene to phenylethene

1. React benzene with enthanoyl chloride to form the ketone
2. The ketone can form to secondary alcohol by using LiAlH4
3. The alcohol can form into alkene by using conc. H3PO4 catalyst
What do you guys got for Activation Energy from slope? I found it to be very small

I talked about recording the time for the precipitate to form such as AgCl, AgBr, AgI and carry out the rate by 1/T... Hope the grade boundary is lower than last year

omg same but the LiAlH4 in dry ether conditions and for the fist part the halogen carrier is AlCl3

gradient = -8 - 0/ 1.7(sth like that) x 10^-3 - 1.395 x 10^-3
gradient calculated is negative and use gradient = Ea/R

Yes, I also used the same reagent with you

I did that too!
-2000 for gradient or na

i talked about the silver nitrate test and how long it took to form a precipitate - halogenoalkanes don't dissolve in water so you add ethanol
im not sure tho

for the gradient, its -26229 sth = -Ea/ 8.31

so -26229sth x 8.31 = -Ea

so the Ea is 217962.99 Jmol-1

so divide it by 1000 to get 217.96 sth in kJmol-1 for the Ea

i got a positive gradient of 100 something kj
