Zeroth law of thermodynamics

Please may you tell me why the law forms the basis for the definition of temperature? 😄

When we speak of zeroth law of thermodynamics, IMO we mean that it "defines" the concept of temperature NOT temperature itself. The definition of temperature is needed more than zeroth law.

What zeroth law tells us is there exists a physical property in two systems and the physical property is the same for the 2 systems when they are in thermal equilibrium. We called this physical property temperature.
