About 10% overall go to private school I'm fairly sure.
No, it's almost certainly in a minority, 6.5% is the figure I found
No not many because it is not worth it now. Let’s be real. ☕️ I don’t think people can sound like they’re from a private school through a screen, but maybe they’re just a liiittle too cocky if so. 😂

People go, yes. Depends on if their parents have the income to want to pay for private education. ‘Normal’ isn’t quite the right word. It’s a minority that do, not a majority.

Not worth it? You get significant better teaching at private schools. I read (not sure where this statistic comes from) that students from private schools are 6x more likely to get AAA at A-Level. If you can afford to pay for education, it’ll be better. I’m not saying it *should* work that way, but it does.

No, not everyone has the luxury of having rich parents to get into boarding/ private school it is the upper class who send there children to private school. The working class have the comprehensive and access to very few grammar schools but there is some which do go to grammar school

It’s definitely a minority and most don’t boast about it as trolls and hate normally follows

Not necessarily upper class only. Some are 30k a year, (at that point, yeah, you have to be rich or on a bursary) some are less than 10k a year. It's usually accessible at around middle class (though most of my friends are more well-off than I am at school).
People shouldn't boast or b*tch about going to private schools though. The child is not the one who decides that they're going to a private school, the parents are. I only go to one because my brothers did, and they only went because the headteacher at their (state) primary school told my parents that they'd be better off at one.

It doesn't necessarily mean you are any better or worse for going to a private school in terms of intellectualism.

The problem i see is in comprehensive schools there is 1,200 students in a comprehensive school on average- another issue is non english speaking students, these should be removed from classes and taught English as a base and let everything else fall in and around over a few years, otherwise they are a missfit and a waste of the teachers time trying to educate this person.

The people who go to private schools seem to be better grammatically and more book wise than street wise and it would be fair to call a decent proportion of them snobs. It goes back to the question why do private schools do better than comprehensive schools- my opinion is the following

1.) Better quality and standard of teaching
2.) Less people in classes- smaller class sizes mean that more time can be set aside to concentrate on students specific educational needs.
3.) Everyone who goes there can speak a good level of English which can not be said for comprehensives.
The UK is only topped by Sweden when it comes to people going to private school, hence why Sweden went down the tuition voucher model instead of outright socialism as it does everywhere else. I think it's actually closer to 15% who go to private school.
nah

There are a lot of Chinese people at my school who take English as additional language, but I agree with most of what you said, except that it really wouldn't be fair to call a decent proportion of them snobs.

It's not like lots of international students go to private schools in the UK or anything.

Yes but they can speak the language- you don't always get that with state schools

Yes but I'm willing to bet they can speak decent English

So you're acknowledging that there's a class system? That went out years ago.
I dont understand people who boast about attending private school, its not like they themselves earned the money to go there is it? they just happen to have rich daddys and mummies
