Preparing for Computer Engineering?

Decided to apply for Computer Engineering, basically all the supercurriculars I've done have been for computer science (such as work experience, workshops, group tasks etc). I've nearly a finished a book about hardware and software, and bought an Arduino to mess around with.

What kind of stuff can I be doing this summer to help my personal statement when applying for a course like this?
Thanks.

What are your grades and what are the entry requirements for the courses you're applying to?

Gonna be predicted A*A*A*A in Maths, Physics, Computer Science, Further Maths respectively.

Thinking of applying to:
Cambridge
Imperial or Bath
Southampton
Warwick
York

Focus on your grades, because that's what universities are mainly interested in. With yours, you shouldn't have much trouble getting into at least three of your five choices. If you've already done some stuff for computer science, that should be fine, as I understand computer engineering contains a fair bit of programming and computer science topics anyway. If you've got an Arduino that's fine too.

Just checking you are aware that Cambridge doesn't have "Computer Engineering". They have Computer Science *or* Engineering (a general engineering course where, after 2 years, you can specialise in areas such a information engineering).

Also there's no rush to decide all your choices. If you intend to apply to Cambridge (or Oxford) then you need to apply to them by 15th October, but you can add your other choices at any stage until 15th Jan. Indeed it can be a good idea to hold back a couple of choices until after you get your Oxbridge decision in early January.
