Anyone else at Cambridge heard anything yet? Just wondering how long it's going to take so I can find somewhere to move in to etc


I've been in touch with my employer and have arranged to go down and visit on the 24th July. She said she hopes to get everyone starting on the STP in the department down on that day to have an open day and do all the paperwork in person. But she's waiting to hear back from others.

Hello all, does anyone know when we are likely to hear from our university?

Also previous years have set up facebook pages for their specialism, I was just wondering whether anyone has already done this for cardiac science? If so what’s the name of the group please. If not then PM me your name and i’ll add you as a friend and get a group going 😊 Look forward to meeting you all.
Hi, are there any other CCVRS trainees that are going to be at Manchester? I've just been looking at the form to enrol at MMU and it says to fill in the personal statement section. I was just going to put in something about enrolling as part of the STP and that I've already been through the recruitment process with the NSHCS, rather than a full blown personal statement. Is that (or something like it) what other people are doing?

I’d assume so. Can’t see them wanting a full statement. I was planning to do the same but I think I’ll contact the course admin or postgrad applications before I submit anything!

Hi I’ve just put that I’m an STP applicant for cardiac science, surely they can get hold of the personal statement we wrote for NSHCS and if not they’ll get in touch and ask us to just re-write it. Look forward to meeting you!

Has anyone had further information stating which uni to enrol with? I’m still waiting for confirmation as I thought it’s either Manchester or Newcastle for Cardiac Science - I’ve not received anything as yet.

Hi! Where did you find an application form? Have you been contacted by your hospital's HR yet? Thank you
I was contacted about the university course last week and received information about the course timetable and instructions for setting up an account for the portal. It seems that we will receive information and instructions about enrolling and it’s not something we’ll have to figure out how to do ourselves, though at this point everything seems very trust specific.

I have heard from MAHSE - they've sent me instructions on how to apply and the main dates for university this year. Nothing from HR yet but I've arranged to visit my department at the start of August. They're having an open day for all new STPs but unfortunately I'm away on that day so I arranged an alternative date to visit.

I'm pretty sure that last year i wrote 'N/A' in the boxes that seemed irrelevant.

The admin for uni and the MSc will be different from the admin at the trust, and it is highly unlikely that they will be aware of each others dates/schedules/how to enrol etc. treat it as two separate components (job vs degree) and its easier.

I looked to see if anyone had started a Cancer Genomics Facebook group and couldn’t find one, so I’ve started one.

To anyone who is doing their masters at Newcastle, i got a reply from them saying that they've only just received the list of applicants so will be contacting everyone with what to do next very soon:smile: In the mean time there is nowt for us to do untill we hear from them!

I heard I got an offer from Cambridge literally an hour ago, so you probably know more than me! Any idea who I should get in touch with?
Was anyone else not expecting the first residential stay at uni to be 6 weeks long lol?
Anyone in medical physics filled in the application for Liverpool uni?

Their email said they don’t need references but it wouldn’t let me submit without putting two down? Anyone else have the same problem?

For my Manchester Uni application they told us not to bother putting them down but if they don't allow you to proceed without two then just write N/A and your own address. They will receive the references you put down on your original STP application you see.
