Surprising St Andrews is so high.
st andrews joining the 6-digit club
It is a good measure for brand strength, popularity and reputation globally especially when one puts the potential student attendee population into context.

Bristol and Nottingham are slipping.

Just checked Cranfield University and it’s on 23,095 views within that period.
Erm, why is it not there?
Interesting and important data tool I must say.

This represents POPULARITY, and that may be different from qualitative outcomes eg teaching quality returns , research outcomes. Thus note how universities in the provinces are less searched than those in the Home Counties /capital where there will be a larger catchment area. For fear of being political Trump was/is popular but whether he is goid is a matter of opinion.

There is actually a strong correlation between popularity and research outcomes.

The best research universities are more likely to be the most searched for.
This is fun, I wonder what the table is like for Google searches? :holmes:

Apologies, kept the list to only include High Flier's definition of the top 30 universities in the UK for consistency's sake.

To be fair, the Wikipedia page is called 'Wrexham Glyndŵr University' so they actually had 4,029 views.

with Bristol you can just feel it can't you? when i was applying 5 years ago Bristol had such a lure to it, now its increasingly being seen by applicants as just another good uni with a good nightlife
I like this! We come out quite well in this one (UCL).
I'm going to guess it's because Kate Middleton and Prince William are searched quite a lot, and St Andrews is one of the first things on the screen.
I suppose much of this interest is driven by international students from abroad like me who study in the UK
