European Swimming Championships: Glasgow 2018!

:sports:

Here we go folks.:awesome:

At the Tollcross Swimming centre in Glasgow starting 4th August we have the European Swimming Championships, as part of the European championships being held by Glasgow and Berling (don't ask me  ).

Here's the Calender of events for the meet:

I'll be interested to see what the British team produce from what looked like a very promising Commonwealth games in Gold Coast. We're on home turf which usually proves better for athletes - is anyone going up to see it?:K:

What events are you looking forward to?

Anyone else here follow the swimming?

I know @clouddbubbles does.:ninja:
:hi: lol

kinda hoping peaty is in better form this time
and i’m definitely looking out for freya anderson!! nobody really knows her because she just came up from juniors but she has a lot of potential
Okay let's cover Evening 2....

Event 1 being the women's 800m final.

At 400m it's clearly Quadarella's race to loose.
She's never won a championship before and by thw looks of thia performance the Italian deserves it. Nowhere near the pace of Ledecky though.

Great fight for Bronze though!

Also, Eurovision are advertising on the screens at the side of the pool.
Egorova for the bronze. She was cunning there.

Four second PB to win that!!!
It's Peaty time.

Siladji and Scozzoli went flying out.

Second 50 looks phenomenal.

57.00 :woo:
57 seconds oh my word

And Wilby @ no.2 :yay:
58.54 is also pretty bloody incredible :eek4:
Peaty now ahead of every other human in History be a whol second!
Genuinely speechless.

Glad he's come back from Gold Coast and improved

The world record, has gone.

From that interview, sounds like he had quite a lot of pressure in on at Gold Coast.
