National 5 History Help??

Hi any help would be great,

What are the reasons for the Liberals passing the welfare reforms

&

How did the governed control daily life during the war
I'm doing the reasons for liberals passing reforms in my higher prelims, never did it in my nat 5s! A short answer would be
1) The reports of Boothe and Rowntree,
2) The desire for increased national security (problems with Britains overall health was highlighted during the Boer war)
3) Increased National Efficiency,(Britains industry was falling behind that of germany, due to the low health)
4)New liberalism
5) Party Advantage (over labour)
6) Municipal socialism(local governments using local taxes to tackle poverty)

Thank you very much. I do have this among the thousands of notes  Think it's under changing attitudes to poverty but this looks right.

How did you get on with your nat5 history last year? My prelim for it is next week, any tips?

I managed to get 20/20 in my assignment and 55/60 in my exam, winning the History award in my school so your talking to the right guy :P

Tips would be to make sure you know your topics inside and out, I found drawing mindmaps/spider diagrams, worked well, but doing source questions again and again and again till the method stuck in my mind helped also! I had some terrible topics to study though, Changing Britain and Immigration was so boring, Nazi Germany was ok though!

My assignment question was "How far can it be argued the Scots had a positive impact on the countries they settled in?"I just typed a 800-900 word essay and learned it.

Hi there, I need some help on the era of the Great War. I’m not sure what had a bigger impact on Scottish society, conscription or food shortages and why? Thanks

You'd be best making a new thread about this, as this one is a few years old
