A levels

I’ve taken French, English Literature and History A Levels in college and I really don’t want to do history a level anymore. I’m hoping (in 2 years) to go to university and study French. If I change History to photography will that change my chances of getting into a university and studying French? I’m wondering as photography is quite different compared to English Literature and French

You need to read the entrance requirements to your uni course that interests you.

History is a strong and respected academic subject.
Photography is not considered as a string academic subject although depending on the university it may still be acceptable and fit your needs.

You should already have a rough idea of what grades you might get and what unis you might aim for , so its just a question of checking the entrance pages and if needs be with the uni admissions to make sure it doesnt prejudice you.

The higher up the food chain the more they may care and the lower down then less so.

Changes should be in the first term/ month.

History can be quite tough work depending on whether it interests you or not. It is known for a large volume of work. helps if you are a curious analytical problem solver with an opinion.

Have a look at some of these links, they might help put things into context a little better. If you feel you will struggle with history then dont do it and find another A level you can get a high grade in. Grades get you into better unis.
