HELP ASAP! Criminology or law and criminology

GUYS! I picked sociology and criminology and I have no idea why!!?? I got the offer but I wana change. The course criminology on its own and law and criminology is still in clearing. I can change right? And I need to pick between those. Sociology is about them theories which I did in college kinda boring. Now has anyone studied law or criminology ?! What’s the main difference between them two? Which one shall I go for criminology on its own or law and criminology.

Yea you can change courses, just call up clearing hotline. As for your second question Criminology on its own is better than Law and Criminology. If your gonna do Law and Criminology, just do a Law degree. I wouldn't recommend just criminology either as its usually looked down upon, but if you were to choose out of the two you will be more employable with just criminology over criminology and law.

The thing is I’m very eager to study law as well as criminology so doing both would make sense. But now you say I’ll be less employable with criminology and law it makes me wonder. What’s the reason “law and criminology” would make someone less employable? I know law on its own is better but I’ve always had a passion for criminology.

That you're not less employable with a law and crim degree.

To your OP, law is about all law. Not just criminal law. You will study very little crime on the law side of a law and crim degree -- that's the difference. If you don't enjoy theory or more that you find it boring, you're probably not going to enjoy law which is many multitudes more dull.

Studying Criminology is way too cool- you get to study crime in society, deviant behaviour, white collar crime, victimology, crime stats and loads of fascinating stuff. I am a criminologist and a sociologist and between you and me- Criminology is way better. Job prospects might be a bit thin but it will be one of the most enjoyable subjects you will ever study. You will still have to learn some theories but the subject matter is amazing- have a look at the website- i showed earlier and look into the academic section and the section on crime reports and risk assessment.
