Is it possible to transfer unis in first term/within first few weeks?

As the title asks....
Just wondering? Feel like I chose the wrong uni but I'm only seeing threads about transferring after first YEAR.

I did. Its a real pain. Wouldn't recommend. The biggest obstacle is going to be student finance. My old uni does not charge tuition within 14 days of leaving. You have to check your Unis policy. Then if other unis have places it may be possible but it is not easy.

How? Did you have to go through clearing?

Whats the reason you want to transfer? I knew one person irl who did so which gave me confidence (he was homesick)

oh come on you're at Edinburgh which is arguably the most beautiful city in the world outside Italy... and great nightlife too.

I'm from London and went to St Andrews and I saw the distance as a real adventure, i loved the easyjet home and the 4 year degree changed my life because it gave me an extra year to refine my career plans in life

i don't doubt the sincerity of your feelings but please try to let it grow on you which will be sooo much easier than transferring

have you used google maps street view to 'walk around' the Sussex campus? looks tedious! what do you think of your course and what do you want to go into?

the great thing about the Scottish system is you get to study 3 subjects so you can go into any one of them, no?

Sussex doesn't have any spaces left anymore, so it would be Surrey or East Anglia probably...
In theory, yes, but as I do philosophy (a big course) it counts as more than one subject meaning I can't take a third full course, only a term long one, so I won't be specialised in it enough to go into it! All I want is a high ranking uni with good graduate prospects in England! Is this too much to ask for??!!! Apparently so

I have to be brutally honest but philosophy won't give you good graduate prospects. Unless you want to become a teacher or researcher

it will if you get excellent internships and work experience. (otherwise 100% agreed)

" At the discretion of the University, a full refund of tuition fees may be made to students who withdraw from a programme with appropriate academic approval within the first couple of weeks of starting their studies" Edinburgh University

I was looking into politics and /or international relations, do you reckon this would be any better or another dead end?

Not really. Have you considered going into law afterwards (solicitor)? You may be able to help people with similarly complicated issues.
