Can you draw naked figures in gcse art ?

Hi I’m currently in year 11 completeing my coursework in which I have to link to artists and I really like the idea of drawing a woman naked (not in a creepy way or anything but figure drawing seems so intriguing) please tell me what you guys think asap, thanks ! x

Yes! Some of our greatest art pieces depicts the naked human form. Not your fault if certain people are just sexually repressed creeps who see it as softcore porn 🤷🏽*♀️ good luck x

I'd say go ahead but don't make the picture too explicit show your completed version to your teach then ask her what she or he thinks

This comes across as opinion. Do you have actual evidence from the exam boards that naked drawings are acceptable to be submitted by candidates?
also are you talking about kinda covered with hands and stuff or just the full shabang

Yes. I along with 6 other people did an entire coursework topic on the loosely titled ‘human forms’, with some art work being pretty ‘explicit’ in GCSE Fine Art and nothing happened (in fact we all got A*). Not everything you disagree with is invalid, I’m afraid.

I don't disagree with it, as a matter of fact I agree with it.

Just don't want the OP getting sanctioned by his exam board, so pressed you for absolute confirmation. I see you've now edited your initial post to make this clear.

i don't think your a perv also i just realised something say if you go inside a drawing and take of the clothes what would be there would they be naked or would the place just be blank. I don't see anyone drawing naked bodies then putting clothes on the top

Thanks to all the feedback , I’m going to ask my art teacher tomorrow I just wanted to know whether it was worth it or not seeing how strict schools and the exam board are now and I really don’t want to build on a project that’ll be possibly rejected (I personally think it’s beyond stupid if it was to be turned down but that’s just me lolol)

Doing the drawing is fine, but I’m pretty sure you need to make sure the model you’re photographing for your drawing is above the age of 16 otherwise it’s incredibly illegal.

I don’t think they’re talking about life drawing, just drawing an image, not from an actual model/photo they’ve taken themselves. I think it should be fine but yeah just double check.

Alright fairs, was just thinking if they wanted to make a full project out of it then they would have to do a photo shoot and all that, double checking sounds like a good idea.
Not sure anyone commenting has actually done GCSE art....

Having done A-level and GCSE art i wouldnt recommend it. A girl in my year drew naked pictures of her girlfriend and whilst that was allowed just about (the pictures were of her back etc so nothing properly explicit) she had to redo her final piece because a final piece needs to be shown and you arent allowed to show anything around a school which depicts nudity as it is a safeguarding issue for younger years.
So i would say dont do it because you need to display your work when the moderators come in and if you cant show it they wont know you have done it so you will lose marks
obviously you shouldnt do it wtf

So the art is actually displayed in the school and the moderators come to the school to check it?

yep, the art teacher marks it then it goes up on display and a moderator comes in with a clipboard and wanders around the school
