Hello,
on 15/10 I applied to Aston Uni to study biomedical science. However, I still haven't received an acknowledgement letter. Is this normal ? Thank you in advance

Thanks for applying to us,

This is fine, we don't usually send out acknowledgement letters for applications, but you'll hear from our admissions team when they make a decision on your application.

Hope you get some good news soon.

I want to apply for Economics. However, I see other options such as Economics with Managment or with Politics. I don't know what to choose, and I have never studied Economics before. Moreover, UOB has said they would take me on if for Accounting and Finance but not economics. I don't know what to do. I know UOB overall has a better standing it being a Russel Group university and ranking way higher globally. However, both UOB and Aston Business School have triple accreditation. Some support from Aston University or opinions would be helpful!!!

Hi,

Thanks for considering us, it can be difficult deciding which course you want to study when there are a range of similar options.I would suggest that you look at the module titles for second and third year and do a little bit of background reading into how the course specialises. However it looks like you're more closely alligned for our Economics and Management course if you're looking into similar accounting and finance roles.

The great thing about our business courses is that they share a common first year, thus you're usually able to change your degree pretty late onto the course if you learn about an area you wish to specialise in over the course of your first year and will also give youa fundemental understanding of business and how your specialism is routed in it.

You're obviously doing a lot of research already if you're looking into accreditation already, so I won't throw anymore marketing spiel at you, but if you have any questions do give me a shout.

Good luck!

Josh

YOUR THOUGHTS ON NEW APP IDEA: As University students, what would you want to get out of a university campus-based app?!!

DiscoverCampus: A GPS location-based app, an interactive map where you can choose to filter what is shown on the map e.g. food and drinks places on campus, workshops, careers fairs, union events, external talks etc.

Would you use it and what features would you want it to include??
When are aston going to start making people with btec extended diplomas offers, do they take longer for whatever reason. Reason being as I really wanna go aston and will firm them as soon as I get the option.

Hi there, I have seen that some universities allow the students in first year to take on an additional some times unrelated module (Spanish, etc) to study. Does Aston offer this?

The Economics with Management course has a double degree option, how would this work?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes we offer a programme called languages for all for our first year students, you should be able to study either Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese or Spanish at beginner level.

You'll be able to register for this through MAP when you start your degree.

Hope that helps.

Anyone applied for Business and management? Lmk let’s be friends because there’s no way I’m going through uni alone 😭😂😂
My son has received a conditional offer for BEng, but some of the conditions relate to achieving Distinctions in some BTec modules already completed and he achieved Merits, this is clear on his application. He is predicted Distinction for this years modules. So he has an offer that he already cannot achieve the conditions of?? will the units this year (Further Mathematics for Engineering Technicians, Further Mechanical/Electrical Principles) being achieved at Distinction be enough?.
