Are M&S right to display women's underwear at the shop

The display should be taken down.
Its offensive to us men that struggle with women. It is a reminder of what we could have if we weren't rejected by women that look down on us.

How can it possibly be wrong for a retailer to display its wares in its window? How can it be wrong to suggest that its wares are 'must-have' (which is essentially something that is modern and popular)?
People who complain about this display are saying far more about themselves than they are about M&S.

It's a marketing strategy. The amount of things which are seen as must haves in so many brochures which really aren't is ridiculous.

I have promised myself that I will cease shopping at any supplier that bows to this sort of silly pressure.
Simple solution: put men's underwear in the window too. Ideally with pictures of scantily clad male models.

Okay, as a feminist, this is dumb. It's lingerie. What's the alternative? Hide the underwear at the back of the shop and get called out for sl*t shaming? It's a product (well, products). I get that they sell other stuff but there were other window displays and other mannequins. Sure, they could have tossed in a mannequin wearing boxers, but like what's done is done and if you look at actual statistics waaay more women shop at M&S than men. Besides, men's underwear is all either plain or ugly. Regardless of gender, who is honestly going to think "oh, a pair of plain black boxers with a front slit. So unique and hot."

Anyway, this is a bit of disingenuous question. It's not only about the underwear, it's about the contrast to how they market to men right next to how they market to women.
Of course they have a right to do it. But people do have a right to tell them how sexist it is.
