If u liked the kite runner I would recommend A Thousand Splendid Suns.

One of my favourite books so far is The Count of Monte Cristo!

I read a lot, but I am yet to read a novel that I feel qualifies as a real standout work. I've read lots of classics and popular books, and I've enjoyed most things I've read, but then I just want to pick up the kind of book that makes me want to read all night.. and that's never happened.
also in my top 10:

Cloud Atlas by Mr Mitchell

The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by Mr Mitchell

The Magus by the late Mr Fowles

Prospero's Cell by the late Mr Durrell
