Bank Of England Graduate Scheme 18/19

Hello!

Since there was no thread for this years intake I thought I would start it!

Please post any questions or just general discussion about the graduate development process for this year

JKraz,In reply to your question in the other thread: no, I haven't heard anything about supervision. I saw someone ask in one of the 'meet and engage' sessions when we could expect to find out and there was no timeline given. Could still be weeks away, given that supervision is the last stream to go to the assessment centre in late Jan.

Thank you @sgorka17 ! for you and anyone else i Emailed HR and they said we should find out mid/end of december so hopefully will hear back soon!

Im most curious about how many will be in this years intake now but I don't think we get told that

Hi, I applied to the supervision stream and got an email two days ago saying Ive been invited for an interview (guessing they mean assessment centre) and to click on a link and schedule an appointment ASAP. Have you not heard back yet?

Also, does anyone have a link to any specific information on the supervision stream in particular? Seems the job description is very vague on what the stream actually entails....

No unfortunately I haven't which is not filling me with hope:frown: can i ask when you did your video interview? what was the date?

I'm not too sure on the specifies of the stream as I agree it is very vague online

Yeah its weird they dont have more information on it! I did the video interview on the 4th of December.

I got my reply from the BoE on Tuesday and have passed the interview so onto the AC now!!! am very curious as to what kinds of things will be involved

I have supervision on Wednesday the 23rd! Does anyone know rough estimates on how many will be there?

I have my AC for Operations next week. Do they send anything via email beforehand, because I haven't had any communication from them after I booked my place. Just wondering if they send some sort of itinerary, or info on what to expect?How would you go about preparing for it?

I emailed them about whether you receive a brief before the AC and they said we don't get any more info before the day of the AC. However, I was enquiring bout the Supervision stream so it may be a bit different
Does anyone know where we can find more information on what the roles specifically contain? For the operations role it's incredibly brief and therefore hard to know exactly what's expected.

Based on the ops people I spoke to at my (failed) AC last year: the roles are very diverse as you can be working in several specialist areas (e.g notes isn’t going to be anything like markets- the latter will be something like ops in investment banks). I’d suggest picking one or two areas of interest then using their experienced hire career portal to see what sort of roles are available,because these have very complete and in-depth descriptions
