Education up to 18 is free. That is the most important thing. We should be discouraging silly degrees by putting the cost up and reducing the cost of the important useful ones. Of course what is useful and what isn't, is open to discussion

The pound, like any other 'currency' is fiat money, issued when the government or anyone take a loan.

This money was used to fund government indoctrination until the government decided to further abuse its students by making them pay for it

And what are those numbers? Haven't you noticed that the number '2' means there may be two different things in the real world?
The amount of money made is decided upon measurement what economy can handle and what amount can be trusted reasonable. If you produced too much money, they would lose value and cause hyperinflation.

Sure, teaching children to read, write, understand different things and calculate is an indoctrination. People don't need it.

This doesn't really make any sense. They *can't* print enough money to make it free... printing a load of money to pay for universities for a year, let alone several decades, would devalue money so much to cause hyperinflation and screw the economy to hell.

The government is in almost £2 trillion debt, if they could print money to pay it off do you not think they would've done that already?

A long time ago you did not, but that was because the only people who would make it into universities where the rich and well educated of society who came from priveleged backgrounds so the government would pay because it was a minority. Nowadays, over a quarter of the student population go to universities....

If the government kept paying, they would go from funding a tiny amount of people going to university to funding so many that it'd account for a large part of the government deficit. Times change.

What you state just does not hold true from at least the 1960s and possibly much earlier. Both my parents went to university in the 1940s, neither family was particularly rich, my mother's father owned a small tailoring/men's clothing store in a poor part of Dundee (The Hilltown) my father's father had left school at 14, joined the army as a private, and progressed upwards through the ranks to become a senior NCO in the 1930s and then received a commission just before WWII, hardly privileged, yet my father went to Oxford then Edinburgh and my mother did both her degrees at Edinburgh.
