Pugglet's Powerlifting Adventure

So, I've decided to start powerlifting.
:excited:
Why? Because I'm short and it seems like good fun (who doesn't want to do a sport where they have an advantage :yep:)

And so, I am going to try and blog this adventure (emphasis on try).

Where to begin...
About me
Name: Emma (or Pugglet)
Age: 21
Height: 5ft 2

I'm aiming to train around 4 times per week and eventually compete

LETS GET TO IT :woo:

Good Luck! Are you doing this as a way to gain mass or as a hobby?

I feel like I should explain my silence and lack of training.
I currently have exams and deadlines and on top of that have just been informed my meds are wayyy off so I’m dealing with that.
I’m aiming to train later today and get going for this year. 😇
Good luck, in!

High Bar Squat
1 set, 5 reps 50kg @RPE 8
Back offs

4 sets, 5 reps 32kg @75%

Barbell Overhead Press

So first day back training properly and it wasnt too bad.
My bench is appalling (but that is my weak spot and my most hated exercise) and now that I'm no longer rehabbing my knee, my squat should start to improve:h:. Just happy to be back training

Intersesting day at tthe gym tbh.
Was still sore from monday but happy.
Did have some idiot try and mansplain that my deadlift was wrong and I wasn't wearing the right shoes for it :hmmmm: and I did forget my chalk which was annoying.
(Bench is still dreadful but squats are improving slowly)
Should have punched the idiot in the face.

Really wish I had tbh
Not sure whether @CleverSquirrel is still blogging herself, she'll be pleased with your progress  I've had very little interest in lifting weights and i don't think that will change for as long as i have a bike
Good luck with you exams/deadlines and your beginning powerlifting.

Don’t take this as mansplaining as Im happy to force this oppinion on any gender, but if it was running shoes you should consider taking the advice.
