Air transport management, which uni is better?

HI guys,
i would like to attend an msc in Air transport management and I am wondering which university offer the best programme in the Uk?
Can you help me? I am more oriented between cranfield and loughborough but if some of you has already graduated and want to help i thank you.

Many people consider Cranfield's Air Transport Management as the leader in that area due to many reasons: the course contents, the strong aviation links and the success in placing graduates in this sector for over 50 years. You will have the National Flying Laboratory Centre, Airspace Management Laboratory and the Centre for Aeronautics, amongst other research facilities, to help your course. What do you aim to achieve with the MSc program?

Hi and thank you for your answer.
I went to an aviation school during my high school and i ve just graduated in law here in italy. I would like to enter this field in order to work Either by Airline Companies or Airports Management society or international association such as iata or icao and so on. To be honest i am looking for a place with a good network in order to get a job as soon as I finish this master. another year of studying without perspective would be kind of unuseful i think. What can you tell me about it at cranfield? I am applying very soon just waiting a few papers.

I have good law background, not the same in math. Do you think this MSc is more law/administrative oriented or something else? Are they gonna be meeting or visit to Airport or things like that? Sorry for all this question :wink:

Thanks for your reply- I think I would start with the less complex questions first! Yes, a welcome/shuttle service is normally provided to students who resume during the September & October months. Normally, you would need to request this service as they run on a pre-planned schedule.

As you went to an Aviation School and you studied Law, this course should be ideal for you, should you wish to pursue it. I do know a few graduates from aeronautical engineering, business studies, GIS, geography and economics background who have enrolled in the course. I am aware that pilots too find the course fulfilling.

The MSc can not necessarily be said to be administrative-oriented. While some of the core modules are based around strategic management, regulatory policy, you will do core modules on statistics, air transport economics and finance, market analysis and forecasting, and air transport engineering (optional module). Hence the MSc is certainly not administrative oriented. You can eventually specialise in appropriate areas.

I understand your driver, i.e, the job prospects. It is important! The course has an outstanding global reputation, graduates of the course are featured in Cranfield's annual CV Book, a publication requested and by and circulated to our extensive industry partner network. The graduates of this course are highly sought after as the area is rather specialist.

Dear Carol618,

I am a student that is currently enrolled in the Air transport management course of Cranfield University.

Personally, I do have an aviation major. But in my course, there are around 50 other people with various backgrounds. Some people have worked as cabin crew and others are electrical engineers and come straight from university.

It is really convenient that you are working in the sector, this makes your profile a good fit for the university, and it will have a lot of advantages applying and completing the course!

In conclusion. The background you have as a major is not vital for the application to the Air transport management course.
