Soot covered coal miners deemed to be racist

Just when you thought the cultural Marxists couldn't get more loopy loo, they earnestly tell us that photos of coal miners are racist, they offend them, and therefore must be taken down from public display.

The left are so stupid as to be beyond parody...

"Phoenix restaurant says this is a photo of coal miners. But I see offensive blackface"

But I see.

I see.

I.

I want to be offended. I want to push my ideology of social justice on people because I have nothing better to do and want to pretend I am some amazing woke person fighting "terrible injustice".
“A business’ photograph of men with blackened faces culturally says to me, “Whites Only.” It says people like me are not welcome.”

We can’t stop her from being offended, but this is ridiculous

Is it satire?

It never ends. Now we can't enjoy the children's classic Mary Poppins because THAT is racist...

When are the silent majority going to tell these extermist idiots to stick it where the sun doesn't shine??

To STFU?
Not only does this person have strange views but he/she is incapable of distinguishing between coal dust, which miners famously get covered in as a natural result of doing their job, and soot which is the aerial debris from a fire that chimney sweeps used to get covered in. Theother thing miners are famous for is going to the pub immediately after work and downing a pint or two to slake the raging thirst that their work gave them.

Of course its ridiculous but what are you going to do about it? Other than moaning on a forum?

It's racialism, putting everything through the race lens. There are no black people involved in any shape or form, it's all imaginary.

David Lamy is capable of that too, he once managed to argue against the white smoke for when a new Pope is chosen in the Vatican.

God knows what such characters can make of white flags and Notts County kit.

Still, they earn out of it...

The photo itself is of Welsh coal miners during the 1926 general strike. Ironic really that a privileged, American, 'POC' journalist in the 21st century would take issue with and claim to feel victimised by a photograph of men who actually were oppressed, and forced to live and work under more dangerous and brutal conditions than Mr Rashaad Thomas could ever imagine. Frankly, it's quite insulting to the memory of those men.

But context doesn't matter, facts don't matter. Only Rashaad Thomas' personal insecurities and paranoid perceptions matter.

What do you expect me to do? Walk into the offices of the New York Times with an AK47 and a balaclava, and shoot some liberal journalists whilst screaming "Mary Poppins has been avenged!"??

This is an internet forum debating current affairs. Moaning about stuff is its entire raison d'etre, and why we are all here (including you).

If you don't ike my posts, don't read them.

If you don't ike my posts, don't read them. You do seem to have a peculiar, almot stalkersish fascination with them mind. Judging by how many times you reply to just about anything I say!

That would be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

And hey! Get your own stalker!

You cheating on me, @DSilva?

As much as this is stupid and all, is there any reason to care about some dumb opinion piece written for some minor media site? You're only making yourself look just as offended as the person who wrote it.

There's no end to the amount of stupid opinions you can find on the internet, be it left wing, right wing, whatever. The best thing you can do for your own sanity is to just move on. A lot of this stuff will be lost and forgotten in a couple of months.

Do you have a source for this because I think it is improbable?

Firstly, miners were on strike for months before the general strike. Why are they covered in coal dust? They weren’t working.

Secondly the walls of that room are made out of vertical wooden planks, not panelling. You don’t find that in a Welsh pit village.

Those beer glasses don’t look like a British 1920s beer glass to me.

The advert is for Bass Burton Ale on draught. Again that seems unlikely for a pub in a pit village.

I am not convinced about the date, that it was taken in the UK or that the men were miners rather than tunnelling navvies.
The article confuses you because he is a poor writer unable to articulate his point.

Any racial connotation arises not because a long dead photographer decided to photograph that particular scene.

Rather, the question is why of all the photographs in the world did that 21st century Arizona restaurateur select that image?

Only when one answers that question can one judge whether that photo on that wall is offensive.

No it won't. This (now) wacky stuff becomes the mainstream in a dizzyingly short time, and then becomes the dominant culture.

And politics is downstream of culture.

You don't necessarily know that. Clearly the wacky stuff that has been published each year for the last 10-20 years isn't mainstream so why should we believe this will be?

Of course. It's just funny you keep saying how we 'need to do something', giving over dramatic Churchillian type speeches... on an Internet forum, yet you don't actually do anything.

So why don't you lead by example and actually do something, rather than just complain?

Of course. Monogomy is so anti-progressive.
