I see people criticizing Maduro for not allowing the "humanitarian aid" into the country.

I think a instituting programme of britally robbing the country blind for five years and allowing an oil-rich nation to descend into poverty and superinflation is what they criticise Maduro for. The people obviously want change and some politicians have plucked up the courage to try and give it to them. Your attitude is shameful.

I see people criticizing Maduro for not allowing the "humanitarian aid" into the country. As I worried might be the case, it turns out the USA are using these shipments to try and smuggle weapons into the country. At a time when someone is trying to start a coup and seize power from the government, what possible legitimate reason could there be to smuggle in weapons like this? It is clearly an attempt to try and arm people to start a coup, and the Venezuelan people and their government have a right to protect themselves from that. If an unelected opposition candidate in our country just declared that they were the true leader of the country and got Russia to start smuggling weapons into the UK disguised as humanitarian aid, our government would block the shipments too.

Incredible, people dying in the streets is preferable to foreign aid just because it comes from the Americans.

Actually you could be right here I may have been wrong. It does seem that one point Guaidó was apparently arrested by security forces. But there may be more to that than meets the eye because the Communications Ministry later released a statement that this was in fact not a government authorized arrest. So if it wasn't them, who was it? I don't think someone trying to start a coup against the government would be beyond staging an event like this to try and gain sympathy from the gullible. There is also the possibility that it was the Venezuelan security forces who arrested him then publicly denied it. But what would they stand to gain from that, abducting an opposition candidate only to release him?

Hmm anti American government implicates the US in a conspiracy...definitely no reason to take the claim with a large serving of salt.

The Americans don't give a **** about people dying.

They care about their financial and political interests in the country. Nothing else.

Oh no! A country cares about its own interests! The horror!!!

So you accept the US are only out for themselves?

Why, in that case, would it be wrong for Venezuala to be highly suspicious of US backed 'aid' ?

Where did I say that?
its wrong of Maduro to deny aid to his starving people, yes. Didn’t know that would be a contentious point these days.

It's incredible to see the lengths people will go to just to say that the Americans are bad. What do you think is worse, some food packages from th United States or people starving to death?

There is nothing wrong with humanitarian aid but it should not be politicized. America is trying to use the aid as a political tool to undermine the legitimate government and get people to back their guy. If they really do want to donate food aid to Venezuela then I am all for that, but I would ask why not just lift the sanctions as that would do a lot more to help? The fact that they don't seem willing to lift the sanctions until Maduro leaves speaks volumes, they are politicizing humanitarian aid. They are saying to starving people you can have this food, but only if you support our political party.

It’s Maduro that’s not letting the aid in. The sanctions aren’t why people are starving given that they only just started.

That is not the case at all. There are no conditions on the aid. It is not getting through simply because Maduro and his henchmen are stopping it. It is consistent with the utter contempt and lack of care they have treated the Venezuelan populace to all along.

The game plan of every socialist/communist state throughout the 20th century.
