Is this differentiation? If not, what kind of maths question is this?

These are example questions for an admissions exam but I'm not even sure what type of maths question it is (which doesn't bode well for me haha). Could someone tell me where I can study this type of A Level maths online?

part d is just differentiation from first principles but arranged in a very unhelpful way.
Part a looks like a differential equation solved by separating the variables.

Part D is actually a truncated Taylor expansion of f(1+a)f(1+a) about the point a=0a=0 [or if you prefer, Maclaurin expansion of f(1+a)f(1+a)], hence why there's an approximation sign.
